Project: Sanitation Worker Accredition & Safety app
Product + UX/UI Design

Despite the existence of numerous regulations, reports of sanitation workers suffering injuries or fatalities while on duty continue to surface. To address this critical issue, the SWAAS Sewa app was developed with the goal of ensuring both accreditation and safety for sanitation workers. Initially conceptualized in English, the app is designed with a vision for multilingual functionality, enabling its deployment across all Indian languages for broader accessibility and impact.

The SWAAS Sewa app is designed to digitally document every sanitation task, promoting greater transparency and accountability. This structured process enhances regulatory compliance while identifying operational roadblocks, enabling timely corrective actions. Crucially, the app flags all ‘high-risk’ events, mandating strict monitoring and adherence to safety protocols—reinforcing its core mission of safeguarding sanitation workers on duty.

Beyond streamlining sanitation operations, the SWAAS Sewa app also serves as a robust platform for managing and monitoring worker welfare initiatives. It plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective delivery of healthcare services and welfare schemes tailored to the needs of sanitation workers -amplifying its impact on both operational efficiency and worker well-being.

Recognizing the limited smartphone access among sanitation workers, the SWAAS Sewa app was thoughtfully designed to allow multiple users to access its features through a single installation. This inclusive approach ensures that every worker, regardless of individual device ownership, can benefit from the app’s functionality and support.
